5 Attractions That Will Make You Fall in Love with Budapest

4. St. Stephen’s Basilica

What would a visit to Europe be without the mention of a big, magnificent, Catholic church? St. Stephen’s Basilica in Budapest, named after the first king of Hungary, is said to house St. Stephen’s right hand, which is supposedly incorruptible.

Besides a breathtaking altar, sanctuary and cupola, the Basilica is also one of the tallest buildings in Budapest. This means that visitors can either choose to climb a few hundred steps – or take the elevator – to the dome and be treated to a practically unencumbered 360-degree view of the city. Just like the Dohany Street Synagogue, it is worth a visit, even if you are not religious.
