Guys!! I dunno where my head has been but I’ve totally missed @girleatworld’s 2nd year anniversary! It was supposed to be a week ago on May 11. Here’s the very first photo I uploaded to this account 2 years ago. This photo was actually taken almost a year before @girleatworld was created, on the first day of my Europe solo backpacking trip in the summer of 2013. Back then, I used to just upload the images to my personal Facebook and my instagram. I received positive responses from my friends, so I kept going and collected about 15 images before I finally decided to go for it and create a dedicated instagram for all the food pictures – And that is how @girleatworld was born! This gelato 🍦 was taken on a hot summer day in a small Bavarian town in Germany 🇩🇪 called Rothenburg ob de Tauber, known for its well-preserved medieval walls and traditional colorful half-timbered German houses which you can see on the background. Looking back, I realized I have learned a ton about photography in the past two years thanks to @girleatworld. My composition is horrendous in this picture, but I still remember the feeling of awe and wonder as I wandered down the street of Rothenburg ODT. ❤️
